St. Paddy's Day Parade!
We had a beautiful spring day with 80+ degree weather today!! What more could you ask for while watching a parade! Abby might say candy! LOL! With a little guidance, she caught on quickly to picking up candy when the candy was tossed from the floats to all the kidos! We had fun watching the parade with Michelle, Lily, Stacy, Preston and Anderson! To our surprise, we even saw MayMay in the parade walking with the AC Moore bunch! After we left the parade and before we could even get to Groucho's for lunch, Abby was upset and kept saying, "I need to go see the parade." Next year didn't seem to cut it for her. Throughout the rest of the day she reminded us of all the fun she had at the parade. On our way home from Lowe's tonight, Abby saw the "Chicken Nugget Cow" aka the ChickfilA Cow on a billboard and I thought she was going to jump out of her seat! When I asked her if she gave the Cow a high five at the parade, she said, "No, Abby was shy!" For some reason, that turned our tickle boxes upside down!! I might have gotten carried away with posting pics, but I bet you'll enjoy looking at them! :)

Snow Fun!
Snow doesn't hit Columbia but once a year if we're lucky so we had to play in the snow just a little bit even though Abby has a cold.... we bundled up tight and frolicked in the snow some! I am not sure who had more fun, Abby or our dog, Lucy!!!! Lucy loves to eat snow balls and she attacked our snowman body several times!!!

Can't you tell this dog is smiling!!!

Christmas!!
What a wonderful white Christmas!
I am sitting here watching the snow fall while Abby plays with her new kitchen from Santa! She is having the best time!! She asked Daddy to put her highchair next to the kitchen so she can feed Goofy some of her cooking! She is so creative! Now she is going grocery shopping with her new buggy! I hope my walls survive this trip! LOL -- Now she says she's going to Target!!
We had a great Christmas despite the fact that Abby was sick with runny eyes and nose and a little fever. She felt horrible but still managed to open some presents. Today she's 50% better!! We enjoyed seeing Grandmom, Pop and Paul for a delicious Christmas lunch! Abby didn't have too much pep in her but was able to take a 3 hr nap which helped tremedously!! After Abby's siesta, we helped her open her gifts aka groceries and buggy and some other fun toys!! She found some energy to play some but the constant tissue on her rudolph nose was worrisome.
For dinner, we headed over to May May's and G'Daddy's for a super steak supper! Abby started feeling better which was a major relief to see her enjoy some of Christmas day! We missed Aunt Jill and Uncle Oscie but had lots of fun playing with Uncle Bobby, G and May May!! Abby provided us with some music while we opened our presents on her new guitar from Uncle Bobby (a ukulele which is just her size!) Then she snuggled up in her cute new sleeping bag from May May and G and played with her toys. The night ended with a chipper Abby who wanted to play with her kitchen before we even got home. Needless to say, we had a tough time getting her to go to bed, but we did and he slept for a solid 8 hours!!! That is a first in 3 days! Woohoo!
I think Abby has changed her tune about Santa - before Christmas, everytime I asked her if she wanted Santa to come visit and leave her some presents and toys she said, "NO" and wouldn't even wave to him at the mall from a distance. Now, when I ask her the same question, the answer is "YES!" She even claimed to see him as we were driving to May May and G's Christmas evening!
We are truly thankful for all of our friends and family and to be able to spend time with the grands, aunts and uncles! To the long distance great grand - MaMel, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends - we were thinking about ya'll and hope you had Merry Christmas too!
Leaving cookies for Santa

Ohhh...Looks like Santa has been here!

Checking out the new kitchen! WOW!!

Say Cheese! I got a camera!

Hello....I'm calling from my new cell phone!

Relaxin' while Abby naps.

Poor Abby just isn't quite in the mood to open gifts just yet!

But coming around and finding some neat toys!

The grocery buggy got her up and movin'!

Is this a guitar for Abby?!

Abby sings us a tune ...could you guess that it would be Old MacDonald?

Snug as a bug in her new sleeping bag!

Green Giant
The other day Marshall was looking for something in the freezer and Abby was right in the middle of it all. While she was “helping” him look, she spied some frozen vegetables and said, “That’s Daddy” as she pointed to the Green Giant. A few days later, she was riding in the buggy at the grocery store with me and as we drove past the canned veggies, she saw him again and said, “There he is, that’s Daddy!”. The guy walking down the aisle chuckled as he walked by so I thought you might like it too!

Saturday Morning
Saturday Mornings are the best! There is nothing like staying in your PJs and piddling around the house. I sure wish I were in Abby's shoes though! While I cleaned up this morning, Abby had the best time playing with her baby dolls and teddy bears. She has really started pretending a lot lately!! As I watched her putting her bears to sleep, I thought - I need this on tape, she is just too cute!! So I ran for the camera and here's what I got...
Check out some of the new posts from October too! Coming soon are Halloween and Abby's Birthday party!

Abby - Our Little Entertainer
Over the past few weeks, Abby has just really started amazing us with all that she is saying and doing…. She is totally listening to every word and breath we take and is constantly entertaining us! So I thought I'd share some with ya:
- The Moon As we were driving right after dark the other night, Abby suddenly realized she could see the moon from her car seat and said, "THHHHEEEEE MOOOONNNN I see THE MOON!!!!" As we drove, the trees would hide the moon and as I watched Abby, I saw such excitement as she saw the moon peep through the trees at her! With a *GASP* full of excitement each time, she would say, "OH! THERE HE IS!!!" and for several miles it continued, *GASP* "OH! THERE HE IS" pause *GASP* "OH! THERE HE IS, AGAIN" pause pause *GASP* "OH! THERE HE IS, AGAIN!" Then she had to talk to the moon, "I see the moon and the moon sees me. God bless the moon and God bless me!"…. "OH! there he is, again!" As we got off the interstate, we heard, "Bye Bye Moon. See you later. May May's house."
- The Teacher At dinner the other night, Daddy stretched his long arms, hit the blinds on the window, and played with the strings. Abby stopped eating immediately and pointed her finger at Daddy saying, "NO Daddy. Don't touch the blinds. THINKING SQUARE!" At school the thinking square is a modified version of Time Out. The kids have to sit on a little square of carpet to think about their inappropriate behavior for a few minutes. They do not like to go to the thinking square either! So this night – Abby wanted Daddy to go the thinking square for playing with the blinds! To see Abby telling this and then seeing Daddy's eyes get really big was just too much for me! LOL!!
- Miss Manners Abby walked past Lucy and said, "Excuse me, Lucy" in a tiny little voice. (Lucy is our dog) LOL!
- The Shopper Saturday morning playing in her PJs…
"I'm going shopping – grocery store."
What are you going to get? "Apples and bananas" - Honest Ab-e AKA Our Lil' Southern Belle Sitting on the bed with Mommy and Daddy, Abby said, "Ya'll, I wanna lay down!" and she did!!
- The Procrastinator Lately, Abby has learned that there are more important things to do than go to bed at night and has decided that she needs to do everything in her power to get out of the crib and stay awake!! It usually starts something like this after we try to put her down: "Rock Rock, Pillow (meaning our bed), Dora(book), Sing Song, HOLD YOU, MILK, Potty (usually she is serious about this one though), Mommy or Daddy (whoever is not with her), Sing Song, Medicine. What happened to the sweet, little Abby that used to go 'night night' in a toady frog position as soon as you laid her down?!!!!!!!
- Our Sleeping Beauty J Abby's favorite way to sleep is her hands behind her head… whether in the crib or car seat!! Lots of logs get sawed like this!
- The Singer & Guitar Player Abby loves to sing and has gotten really good at singing Twinkle Little Star, ABC's, Old McDonald, BINGO, Barney's I Love You song and several more. What tickles me is when she plays the guitar at either of her grandparents' houses...she strums the guitar intently and sings Old McDonald constantly!!! She has been doing this for at least 6 months. What's even funnier is when she sees a guitar in a book, she calls it Old McDonald!! I definitely will work on getting a video of our little rock star to share with you!

Appletime!
There's nothing like a fresh apple! So we decided to take a little road trip to the mountains to pick one right off the tree! Michelle and Lily met us and we all road up to Hendersonville together! The girls had a blast riding together and watching Dora in G's SUV! (Thanks G for letting us borrow it!). We brought a picnic lunch and when we got there, we laid out our blankets and had a fun picnic in the field/parking area. Our picnic basket made the perfect little table for Abby and Lily to dine off of -- it was just their size :). After lunch we looked at the BIG pumpkins and then took a ride on the cow train - yes, you read correctly - the cow train. Check out our pics and you'll understand :). The girls LOVED this!!! But Michelle and I were worried we'd get stuck in this thing! Luckily, we peeled ourselves out without any embarassment! Now for the real fun -- apple pickin! Golden Delicious were ripening today and boy were they huge and plentiful. We showed Abby and Lily how to pick em and eat them right off the tree! They LOVED IT!! AND I DID TOO! Thanks Marshall for cutting up our apples!!! After our fun venture picking apples, we wheeled into the barn to get some other kinds of apples and we ran into some fellas playing Bluegrass on the back porch. This was the icing on the cake for Abby - she loves guitars and she even starting dancing with them! We did a little shopping and piled back into the car to head back home...with a homeade apple turnver and pastry in hand to enjoy as we left - YUM! We had a super time and I can't wait to do it again next fall! Did I mention I love fall time!?
