The Pediatrician
On Wednesday, we had our first checkup at the pediatrician's office. Abby had lost a little weight, weighing in at 7lb 7oz and the doctor said she had a touch of jaundice. They measure jaundice by the bilirubin level which was at 11.9 which warranted a follow up visit on Friday, the day after Turkey Day, to ensure the level didn't get higher. She did well traveling back and forth both days and her Friday's visit showed some improvements. She gained an ounce (7lb 8oz) and her bilirubin level had dropped to 11.5. The doctor said that was definitely a good sign! Usually, he said, jaundice peaks and then starts dropping, so hopefully we're on the mend. We're due back next Friday for another followup visit.

I am happy to hear Abby is doing good. From what I hear, Jaundice is a tricky thing. Ty had a touch of it in the hospital but nothing since then. I love being able to read the blog and keep up with yall. Give Abby kisses for me.
