First Visit to Hair Doodles

Since Abby has only had one little trim by Mommy almost a year ago and she has started looking like Shaggy from Scooby Doo, I figued it was time to take a trip to the kiddie salon :) I was torn on how to have her hair cut....short bob or slight trim. So Friday afternoon, I headed to daycare to pickup Abby for her first hair cut at Hair Doodles! School was still in session so I grabbed my camera to catch the toddlers in action! When I got there, the little tikes were sitting at their assigned seats/tables quietly eating cupcakes in celebration of the letter C -the letter of the month! AND they all had cupcake hats with their names on them which was too cute!!! As you would expect, my arrival got them all excited and the camera brought them out of their seats!! Hope the teachers didn't mind my interuption :) After some fun with Abby and her classmates, we scooted to Hair Doodles. Naturally, I chickened out of getting a drastic hair cut. Instead, we got a trim and then had piggie tails put in. To my amazement, Abby sat pretty as you please for Ms. Stacy!! We did take about an inch off the bottom so hopefully it will help her hair grow better now! AND I learned how to do better piggie tails after watching Ms. Stacy but I doubt I'll be as talented!

Pumpkin Shoppin'

While Daddy was off to watch the Gamecocks have a victorious win over Alabama, Abby and I took a little trip to the pumpkin patch to pick us out a pumpkin. We ended up with a big one and a baby one for Abby. As we checked out, we discovered they had pumpkin faces to stick on your pumpkin so we picked out Frankenstein! This was by far the best thing ever! Abby had a great time putting the stickers on her pumpkin!! Her little fingers were far better at putting the tiny little dots on than mine! She might not know who Frankenstein is... but to her, it is her pumpkin! And I must say, she pronounces his name pretty well for a near two year old!!

Let's give a hand out to the Gamecocks for their game well played today!! Ya'll made a lot of people very happy today including my hubby!!

Walk for Life 2010

What a gorgeous fall day to enjoy the Breast Cancer Walk for Life! Even though I was on the SEFL team, we were pushed for time and I never caught up with my crew. I don't know why I didn't find them -- there were only a ton of people at Finley Park! We did meet up with Tracy and her family and some other friends along the way! Abby had a great time taking in all the surroundings... She really liked seeing the band play (Hand Middle School) when we took a pitstop / potty break. However, Spiderman at the end of the walk did not appeal to her though -- "Spiderman scare Abby" so NO pictures with Spiderman. Daddy on the other hand fought off an urge to get a pic fighting with him! We had hoped to go to the Italian Festival that evening but unfortunatley I got stuck with nasty pink eye and wasn't up to it. I hope to never have that again!

Happy Halloween!

For Abby's first Halloween, we dressed her up as a little black cat! She was as cute as could be and just as curious as a cat too! We're still working on getting her to say Meow, but she made a great cat! She found the candy basket fast and starting pulling candy out and handing it to me and Lucy. We took over that duty and let her see all of the little ones trick or treating. She really enjoyed seeing everyone. We had a small group of trick or treaters but afterwards, we stopped by our neighbor's for a spooky gathering. All was SPOOK-TA-CU-LAR! The funny thing was after Abby took off her little costume, she looked like a little ninja, or Cato since she likes to walk along the wall -- like she's scaling the wall.

A Visit to Harmon's Pumpkin Patch

We saw lots of pretty, orange pumpkins and took in a hayride which was the highlight of the day for all of us. Abby loved it so much, we enjoyed watching her more than anything!! She kept her mouth open most of the time smiling BIG! We got a few looks from others on the hayride… wondering why she was squealing so much! Needless to say, her hair was blowing in the wind too!!

Happy Fall

Happy Fall everyone! We've been busy here lately so I have been behind at letting you know how Miss Abby is doing! She's definitely keeping us on our toes. Our latest news is: Abby is walking! YES I said walking. For the past few weeks she's taken 1-2 steps at a time, but this past Wednesday, she figured out how to walk 8-14 steps in a row! She's still working on it, but I think she's getting the hang of it. I've post dated some of our previous adventures so check out what we've done over the past few weeks.

Fun at the Zoo!

We got together at the zoo with Aunt Amy and her friend Ginny who has a little boy named Travis that we met a few months ago. Abby and Travis had lots of fun seeing each other and all of the animals. Travis is such a cutie. The best part came at the end when we all got to eat dippin' dots for the first time! YUM!

Pictures to come...

Octoberfest

We scooted up to Newberry after I got a hair cut to their Octoberfest! It was fun getting out and seeing all of the vendor's exhibits and seeing old Main Street come alive. The Square was hopping and they had a band on the back of the Opera House playing 80's music. If we had gotten there sooner, we could have heard the German duo... We ate some brats and vener snitzel from Delamater's in their courtyard while we listened to the music. It was lots of fun taking it all in along with a good German cold beverage!

Aunt Amanda's Wedding!

This weekend was Amanda's (Marshall's cousin) big day! The wedding was gorgeous and we are so glad the weather cleared up for them! We wish them all the best and welcome Wes to the family!

We caught a pic while the photographer had Amanda, Wes,Uncle Henry and Aunt Dianne posed.
Abby stylin' Uncle Han's shades.
Look everybody, I am trying to walk!
Let's go, May May!
Abby's "dancing" with her cousins, Ella and Judah, and Uncle Richie!
Judah's such a stud. He left us to go dance with Wes's niece.
Dad, they are still playing!

My First Carousel Ride

Dad and Mom took me shopping to the mall and since I was such a good girl, Dad took me on this big thing with lights and horses and music. It was the neatest thing... I rode on a horse that went up and down and all around. Every now and again, I saw mom trying to take my picture. Does she really think she's gonna get a good one of me moving so fast?! See what you think. And then tell me when we are going to go back and do it again! Thanks Mom and Dad. I love you, Abby

The Big Mud Run!

Today was the big day for Dad to run in the Mud Run...a 4.2 mile obstacle course organized by the US Marine Corp. Dad's team started off around 10:30 and by the time Abby, May May and I saw him cross the finish line a little after 11, he was completely covered in mud! He was a part of a 4 man team and the last obstacle was carrying one man in on a stretcher 100 yards to the finish line.

So what do you have to tell us, Dad? Was it as tough as you thought? "....Yeah, it was tough but it was a lot of fun!"

Are you ready for next year? "OH absolutely!"

Abby, May May and I had fun seeing a lot of people we knew and give all the participants a HIGH FIVE for a job well done. It's a little too messy for us!

Here is one of the obstacles we saw that was near the end of the course.
Here are some coworkers from work! I think that is you, Melissa!
Here comes Dad's team.... "Slow Children at Play".

Almost Finished!!! Finished in 1 hour 8 minutes! Great Job, Guys!!

Abby isn't sure what to think of her Muddy Daddy!!

We're proud of you, Da - da! :)

One More Monkey at the Zoo!

Since Abby had a doctor visit today, we took the day off from work and decided to go to the zoo after our checkup which went GREAT other than her 9 month shot! Abby's ear infections have cleared up and she is growing like a champ the doctor said. She is in the 97th percentile for her weight and height and the 89th percentile for her head. She is definitely a tall chunk! She is 30 inches tall and is weighing 23 pounds now!! No wonder my biceps are getting a workout!

We made it to the zoo just in time to see the penguins, gorillas and giraffes have lunch. We also saw a baby flamingo -- who knew they were white when the were born?! I didn't! Dad was quick to catch him imitating his mommy standing on one leg! It was lots of fun seeing all of the animals and to watch our little monkey take it all in! She enjoyed watching the animals and the people! Her nap time crept up on us though, so we didn't make it to the farm animals...we'll save that for next time.

Check out the hair! Either Abby's related to this bird or they share the same hair stylist!
