Dad's 30th Birthday

Dad turned the BIG 30 on April 23 and we had lots of fun celebrating. Tuesday night, we got together with his family for a fun meal. Then we took Friday off from work and headed to Charlotte for our first overnight trip with Abby and our new CR-V! We enjoyed using Dad's new "Navi" (GPS) to scoot around...she worked like a charm. Ikea was first on our agenda which was super cool. Needless to say, we bought a few things. After Ikea, we checked into the Hilton in downtown CLT and then scooted over to South Park for some shopping and a birthday dinner at the Cheesecake Factory! Abby loved the water fountains. It was so nice to get away and have some free time to sightsee! Abby was a sweet girl and slept surprisingly well in her pack n play! She also enjoyed playing on our bed! On Saturday we had lunch on the patio at a quaint restaurant called 300 EAST and then made our way to Belmont, NC to the Daniel Stowe Botanical Gardens which were beautiful! Easter!

We had a great Easter! We went to church with Grandmom and Pop for a change and then enjoyed a great lunch with them. It was a gorgeous day and we had lots of fun strolling around the neighborhood and playing in the yard. Abby had a blast playing with her Easter eggs...she prefers to hide them by scattering them all over the floor!

4 Months!

Hello Everyone!

I'm a little behind keeping in touch with ya'll on the blog so I've tried to compile a little scrapbook so you can see how our sweet girl is growing! We've crossed the 4 month mark and she's growing like a weed! She went to the doctor for her 4 month old shots a few weeks ago and she weighed 14 pounds 6 ounces!!! Go ABBY! Naturally, she was in the 97 percentile for her height, too. The doctor gave her a good report card and said to keep up the great work!

She's busy these days checking EVERYTHING out and eating whatever she can put in her mouth -- except for her cereal. YES, we started trying to feed her. To our amazment, she did NOT like it. So we're putting it in her bottle at night for now and will try to spoon feed her again soon. Abby's doing great holding her head up so we're letting her sit in her little bumbo seat which is like a little tiny high chair, and she's learning to play in her excersaucer. Today, she fed herself while she was sitting in her carseat at church! We were both super proud of her! She's been trying to hold the bottle, but this was the first time she held it and drank lots! She hasn't figured out how to rollover yet, but will very soon. She's also started taking her paci out of her mouth and putting it back in! Total amazment there. Now if she could learn to NOT take it out of her mouth when she wants it, we'd be in business! Marshall and I are convinced she's started talking...she loves to say HEEEEEEEEEYYYYYYYYYYY and YAAAAAYYYYYYYYEEE! Now is that truely what she is saying?? I dunno, but I would like to think so! We won't mark those as first words yet, but I think she's on to something! Enjoy the scrapbook:

Giggles and More!

Abby is growing lots these days! It seems like different things trigger her to giggle more and more! Today, kisses on the cheek made her giggle nonstop for about 10 minutes! And the other day, little pinches on her legs made her giggle! What a fun little girl!!! She's been going to town gooing and gahhing lately! We don't know if she is talking to us or singing a little tune! :) She loves to hold her blanket and cuddle bear blankets too! And boy does she have a great grip!Sometimes when we pick her up, she brings the blanket with her! I'll have to post some pics soon! Only 5 days til she's 4 months old! WOW!

A Rainy Day

We enjoyed the rainy day by playing in the activity gym, watching the rain and talking lots! Abby's bound to roll over soon as she keeps throwing her legs high in the air! We caught some of this on video so take a look and see how she's growing. She loves to eat things now-a-days too...especially her hands. She's even started picking up her toys! ** Just focus on Abby in the videos and not my poor narrating! :)

A Girls' Day Out

Since Daddy had to take a test this morning, Mommy and I spent the day together! We met some of Mommy's friends from work at a scrapbook and stamping convention which was fun even though I slept the whole time. I woke up in time for lunch though and met everybody!! Then we headed over to my cousin's house for a jewelry party! My cousin's friend brought her little boy, Travis. Who would have thought I would have a playdate at the party! He's a month younger than me but was a cutie for sure! Here's a pic of us getting to know each other and my cousin Amy. I also had a great time napping with Aunt Jessica! She rocked me and put me right to sleep! :) What a fun day out! :)

Our Little Love Bug!

Our little love bug was a busy bee on Valentine's Day!! She stunned her little classmates by wearing a little red Valentine dress and took her teachers some sweet treats! That night, she let her Mommy and Daddy go on a date while she spent some quality time with her MayMay and Granddaddy!! Then on Saturday, Abby exchanged Valentines with Mom and Dad and she wore her new Valentine's outfit!! To top it all off, she stopped by to see Grandmom and Pop to wish them a Happy Valentine's Day too! What fun!

Abby's 1st Date!

Abby went on her first playdate today!! Baby Ty who was chaperoned by his parents, Travis and Jennifer, met us in the early afternoon for a fun stroll around the Duck Pond! It was a gorgeous spring day (in February!!) and Abby and Ty had a grand time. They shared some cute goos and gahs and even compared hands and legs! Baby Ty is a handsome fella, and he's no lightweight either! He is 2 weeks older than Abby and was weighing in at 17 pounds which put Abby's weight to shame, 11 pounds! I guess a girls's gotta watch her figure, though!! We had lots of fun and can't wait to play again soon!!

Happy Birthday, Lily!

Abby's best friend, Lily, turned ONE on Groundhog Day and had a fun party this past Sunday to celebrate. Abby had a BLAST watching Lily open all of her presents and really liked looking at Lily's new books. Abby had her mid-afternoon snack while Lily smeared cake all over herself! :) Abby can now say she's been to a birthday party!! And this is one party she didn't sleep through!!

During the party, Lily had a very special visitor. Her mom's best friend,Stacy, and her family stopped by on the way home from the hospital. The special visitor was their new baby boy, Anderson who was 4 days old! Abby and Lily got to meet him for the first time! And Stacy got to meet Abby for the first time! Two Months!

Can you believe our little girl turned 2 months old last Thursday!? And is now going to daycare! She's growing up on us already!!

Today, Abby went to the doctor for her 2 month checkup. She's in the 95 percentile for her height (Imagine that!) and she is in the 88 percentile for her weight! She weighed in at 11 pounds, 2 ounces and is 23.5 inches long! The downside to her doctor's appointment today was having to get her shots. She didn't like them one bit, but was a trooper! I hated to leave her at daycare afterwards but I called to check on her a few times. She has spent most of the day sleeping....let's hope she sleeps tonight too! The doctor said she looks great and is healthy. We couldn't ask for more!

Over the past two weeks, Abby has really been getting a workout on her activity gym. Her most recent trick is grabbing one of the rings on it and holding on TIGHT! She's learned to make smacking noises too!

Storytime and listening to Dad sing are also some of her favorites. She's such a cutie pie if I must say so!!

Abby has recently started enjoying her baths and is so cooperative! The past few times, she hasn't cried one peep! We'll see how long this lasts!! I keep telling her how lucky she is to have someone give her a bath and great massages!

A Wonderful Christmas!

We are so thankful and happy to have our sweet, little bundle of joy, and we couldn't have asked for a better Christmas! I know our families have thoroughly enjoyed spending quality time with our little girl, and Miss Abby has had a wonderful 1st Christmas with them! On Christmas Eve, we visited Marshall's family at Abby's grandparents' house. Abby had fun meeting her dad's cousins and enjoyed seeing her aunts and uncles even though she slept the whole time!!! Christmas morning, Abby decided to see what Santa brought her at 6:00am so we woke Dad up to open presents. Lucy was anxious to see what Santa had brought her as well and snuck into her present while we were taking pictures!! After breakfast and presents, we all took a nap (Lucy included) and then headed to my parents for Christmas lunch. Uncle Paul had a blast taking pictures of Abby with his new camera which explains why he isn't in any of our pictures!! Later that afternoon, we ventured over to Marshall's parents for dinner. Abby had lots of fun sleeping most of the day so naturally once we finally made it home, she was ready to party and we were ready to hit the sack! Our Christmas continued into the weekend by getting together with Pop's family at Abby's grandparents house. Abby was a little angel but unfortunatley she slept through their visit too!
